The Bible was first written in Hebrew. Some of its most astonishing details only show up in the original words.

The number seven is built into the Bible's first sentence, and it never leaves. Read it → Genesis 5 Read the ten names from Adam to Noah in order, and they spell out the gospel. A list of ten names that looks like a family record. Read the meanings in order, and it's the gospel. Read it → Genesis 1:1 Jesus called himself the First and the Last. Those two letters sit, untranslated, in the Bible's first sentence. The first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet sit untranslated in the Bible's first sentence, and before "whom they have pierced." Read it → Genesis 1:1 The first word of the Bible hides the cross. Read as pictures, the six letters of the Bible's first word spell out the crucifixion. Read it → Exodus 3:14 The name of God sounds like breathing. You've been saying it since the day you were born. The four letters of God's name make the sound of a breath. Every person who has ever lived has been saying it. Read it →
